Daniela Guillén García - Violin

Biography

Daniela García began studying the violin at the age of 4 at the CEDAM academy in Madrid-Spain, with professors Pilar Rubio and María José Cid. From 2007 to 2013, both inclusive, she has attended the music summer course organized each year by the Director of this Academy at the Farm of San Ildefonso, “Strings in the air”, an activity that, together with the corresponding classes of the academic year, stimulated her taste and love for music demonstrating a great talent in this discipline from an early age.

In 2008, she joined the Joaquín Turina Professional Conservatory in Madrid to study Elementary Music Teaching in the Violin specialty, performing all four courses in three years.

In 2012, she transferred the file to the Professional Conservatory of Music “Adolfo Salazar” to continue her studies with the prestigious Professor Doña Anna Baget.

She has participated in interpretation courses and Masterclasses that have given her the opportunity to work with important teachers such as Ilya Kaler, Olga Kaler, Agustín Leon Ara, Santiago de la Riva, Eva Graubin, Keiko Wayata, Frederiecke Saeijs, Stephan Picard, Ana Maria Valderrama, Aitor Hevia, Cibrán Sierra , Alina Ibragimova, Eszter Haffner, among others.

As a member of the string quartet she has been an active student of Chamber Music at the International Academy of Music "Forum Musikae" receiving classes from professors Anna Baget, Ashan Pillai and Manuel Guillén.
Currently she takes part of a Clarinet Quintet at the Royal College of Music as a 1st violin with which she is having lots of concerts and having the opportunity to receive coaching from professors such as Mark Messenger, Rober Plane, Susie Meszaros, Yuri Zhislin and Gaby Lester.

She has won Second Prize at the 2015 “Cardinal Cisneros” Interpretation Contests in Madrid and the “César Uceda” Award for young interpreters from Leioa (Bilbao, Spain - 2017).

Since the beginning of her studies she has participated in numerous recitals and concerts. It is worth mentioning, among others, her participation in the Coma Festival of Madrid together with other CPM students Joaquín Turina, premiering works by composers Sebastián Mariné, Emilio Mateu and María Luisa Ozaita, the intense activity within the violin Ensemble directed by the teacher Anna Baget, Solidarity Concerts, etc.

In 2018 she was admitted at Royal College Of Music in London to study her Bachelor of Music (Honours) and has been studying with professor Maciej Rakowski until June 2021.
In September 2021 she started her 4th year of Bachelor of Music with professor Radu Blidar.

In December 2021 she was admitted at Royal College of Music in London to study her Master´s degree with Radu Blidar.

Most recently, she has become an artist supported by Talent Unlimited in the UK.
